I am reading the third book of Inkheart trilogy, InkDeath It is taking me for ever to get thru it.


I think the problem is the first book was awesome. The second book was ok. The third book is becoming tiresome. It is all drama drama drama drama. A person can only read that the hero has been captured so many times.

Well they are not captured yet in the third book but it is only a matter of time. The bluejay was almost caught once and I almost tossed the book across the room LOL.

I did that once to a John Grisham book. I really shouldnt of because it was a library book.

For shame on me.

Fame

I went to see Fame today and it would of been better if I didnt have a headache. It would of even have been better if they didnt squeaze four years into on movie.

The goody that was returned

I mentioned I got a goody. A hair straightner. Got it from Walmart.

The scoop is... they had a few on a rack and they looked pretty nice for 25.00. So I picked one up and took it to the self check out. It rang up for 46.00. I didnt have the extra 21.00 so I was going to put it back. Then I told myself no wait I will go thru a check out with a person and insist it should be 25.00. So I did and when it rang up for 46.00 I said woe now it shows on the rack for 25.00. They called the CSM (aka Customer service manager (aka also known as I think LOL) (aka laughing outloud))) They sold it to me for 25.00.

So fast forward to last Saturday. We were in desperate need of people food. I still had the straightener in the box. I dusted it off and took it to Lexington walmart and got 51.00 after tax 55.00.

Sad I dont have a straightner though. Kathryn should get me a new one since she is the one that broke my old one.

Thats the scoop. I doubled my profit. On a return. I have actually done better on returns before. I bought a $1.00 clearance item and returned it to another walmart and it was $8.00.

The football frenzy

The big game is going on today. All the USC (South Carolina version) games are the big games. I only bring it up because I work down the street from the football stadium. So when game day is on a work day, the orange cones come out, the police start trying to make some kind of order out of the mess, the cars with the goofy flags go by, traffic picks up … thank goodness it is in the opposite direction of which I will travel home and the guys stand out with their goofy flags to flag fans into their parking lot. $10.00 Parking the card board signs advertise up and down the street.

Now are place is a good solid mile from the stadium but parking is at a premium and they start all the way down and beyond where we are located. Last game day that was on a weekday the fans had to fight over the tall weeds for a long hike to the stadium.

Maybe you are wondering why I am bothering with all this. I do have an amusing twist to the storey

The branch manager who actually is a fan of the rival team Clemson doesn’t usually partake in watching an USC game unless they are playing against each other. So the case must have been. Archie thought he would be mighty clever and park at work and walk… saving him the $10 bucks parking fee. When he got to the branch to his bemusement somebody was charging $10.00 bucks to park on the Spatco’s grounds. He politely declined. He allowed them to continue to charge for parking. Claiming he wanted his car to be in the same condition that he left it. I guess he was recalling memories when Karen #1 had her car stolen from the property in broad daylight on a work day.



A bunch of horns were honking and I peeped out the window and 6 or 7 gals in their short skirts were walking to the stadium. I got the guys in service and says you might enjoy this.. bunch of gals getting honked out in minis… the guys took off running outside to peep. What pervs LOL.



I was forced to watch the end of the game. Good news for all you USC fans (SC version) The gamecocks won. Whippee. That is all they are going to talk about for a week until the next game. Whippee.



Next day a guy asked me who won. Every other day I would have been to answer I DUNNO. But I did know. Worse yet, when he asked for what the score was...

a funny about married life

Let me first say I work at a place that services gas stations and they do not have a real strict dress policy. On with the funny... There is this guy at work who told us the woes of married life. He had two pair of shorts that were missing buttons. He said, he asked his wife several times to sew a button on his shorts. She never got around to it. So he being a man picked up his shorts and was going to take them to have the button sewn on. His wife asked why he had the shorts in his hand as he was walking out the door on his way to work. He told his wife he was going to take them and have buttons sewn on. His wife chewed his butt out (because he was being a smart aleck) and told him to leave the shorts; she will sew the button on. He got home that night and the shorts were lying on the bed with the new buttons sewn on. The dude was wearing one of the shorts (camouflage) today. He lifted his shirt and showed us his brand spanking new button. It was a pink flower button. PRICELESS!

I just finished Inkspell. It was a pretty good book. It was my second time reading it. I am now reading Morality for Beautifulr girls. It is in the series The NO. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. I wonder if the author planned to make it into a series when he wrote the first book?

Probably so. It wasnt his first book.

Friday Night Blog

Yeah Harry Pottery and the Half blood Prince will be out July 15. So to celebrate I am going to watch all five of the previous movies this week. I am watching the Harry Potter and The Sorcer's Stone. The beginning of it all!

Yesterday I was finally able to rent Ink Heart. It took me two weeks to find it in the little red box. Thats a pretty cool way of renting movies. $1 per night and they are mostly new tittles. That is if you can find the movie you want. Like Ink Heart! It was pretty good. Like all movies they do not follow the book exactly. This movie endeded really at the beginning of the second book. It was pretty good. The fact that I had to wait for it kind of billed up the hype. To much I suppose. It was pretty good though. I really love the book.

Last week I couldnt find it of course so I rented Taken with Liam Nielson. That was pretty good too. At the end on the boat I was getting a bit tired of all the fighting. It had a happy endings. I like Happy Endings. I hate books that dont have happy endings. I will peak at the end of a book to make sure it has one. Take for example the last of the twilight series. I peaked to see if the main characters were still alive. I wont tell though. Peak for yourself!

I just finished reading David Baldacci First Family. It was pretty good too. Not all of it ended happy but it wasnt tragic either. He is one of my favorite authors. I didnt read it right away so I had late fees. For shame on me.

I have tons more to blogger about but I think I will watch the movie instead.

PS my dog is checking to see if I am watching him making so he can lick the furniture again. He has the saddest eyes. But I will not allow him. Who wants to sit on a couch with dog slobber on it.

what a pain it is

Do you know what a pain it is to go to bed? I sit on the couch saying to my self I am way to tired to go to bed. Makes no sense? Think about this.
You have to feed one cat in a cage.
You have to feed the other cat on the table.
You have to feed two dogs outside.
You have to open that can of dog food but first you have to locate the can opener. We do not have an electric one. Got tired of them not working properly and the cans falling and SPLAT a big mess.
Then you have to find the flash light cause the light on the porch will not work.
Then you have to go back in and retrieve a plastic bag to remove the doo that your little dog made on the porch.
Then you see the grill cover on the ground and you have to fight to get the grill cover on.
Then you look up in the sky and remember rain.
Then you feed lex and you see your car is blocking somebodies elses car who leaves first.
So you move the car.
Then you are lucky enough to remember to leave the cat out of the cage and she didnt finish her food so you have to put that up.
Then you have to put water in the dogs bowl because it looks like rain and they cant sleep outside.
Then you have let the dogs in
Then you have to put the jammies on an all that other bed time stuff and put socks on cause your feet will get cold
Then you have to turn all the lights off and tv off
Then you have to take the lap top and put in the bed room cause your sister cant keep her grimmy hands off of it
Then you have to tinkle one last time.
Instead you could of been watching a whole episode of I dream of Jeanie on WGN retro night.
That is what a pain it is to go to bed
It is exhausting!

Paint Shop Pro

I learned to write and run a script in Paint shop pro. Now I can resize all my photos in less then a minute. Then I can upload them to photobucket. Which takes longer then a minute.
